Meet The Team

Our team strives to give our patients the most pleasant experience and to be their personal advocate to meet the highest level of oral health and general wellness.

ARLENE

Office Manager

I have been in the dental field since 1991, starting off as a dental assistant. I had the pleasure of working with Dr. James R. Mattingly, DDS DABDSM as his assistant when he first came to work with the previous owner, Dr. Fastabend, as an associate in 1997. I was cross-trained in both back and front office from the very start of my dental career, which makes my job easier knowing the intricacies of the doctor’s needs and helping the office run seamlessly. As Office Manager, I aspire to continuously provide the highest quality of care to our patients. I am very blessed to work with an amazing office and dedicated team that share the same work ethics.

Outside of the office, I enjoy the outdoors – hiking, cycling, running – as well as traveling, reading, and most of all, spending time with my husband and three children.

ERIN

Dental Treatment Coordinator, Sleep Appliance Coordinator, R.D.A.

Hi my name is Erin! I have been a registered dental assistant since 1998. I enjoy working with people and feel blessed to be part of such an awesome team. Everyone works together to create a positive patient experience. The most rewarding part of dentistry is seeing a patient smile and thank you when they leave. Patients enjoy the comfort of a friendly familiar face.

I also help coordinate treatment for patients who have Obstructive Sleep Apnea. Dr. James R. Mattingly, DDS DABDSM can make a dental sleep appliance for the patient, instead of a CPAP machine. This is a very rewarding part of my job, as his patients feel so thankful to sleep restfully again.

When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my granddaughter, watching sports with my husband, playing golf, and traveling.

JESSICA

Hygienist

I graduated from Diablo Valley College Dental Hygiene program in 2013. I live in Concord with my husband, and our dog (Luna) and cat (Theia). I love hiking, cooking, painting, gardening, and being in nature.

JUSTINE

Hygienist

I hail from New York City and began my dental career as a dental technician, while serving in the Navy Waves in ’67. At the behest of the Navy dentists, I decided to apply for Dental Hygiene school, using my GI Bill. I worked in Oakland and Foster City for 10 and 12 years respectively, before arriving at this office in January of ’86. On a personal note, I also taught aerobics for about 10 years in the mid 80s and 90s, danced jazz in a chorus line, and tried my hand (and my feet!) at ballroom dancing. I reside in Benicia and have a 12 year old Shiba Inu named Suki, meaning “love” in Japanese.

NANCY

Hygienist

I’ve been practicing dental hygiene for over 20 years after graduating from Central Piedmont in Charlotte, NC. I took time off to raise my kids and returned to work about 13 years ago. I’ve had the pleasure of working Saturdays in this office since then. I enjoy introducing our patients to the many resources available to better their oral health, including Water Piks, Invisalign, and dental implants. When I’m not working, I like to spend time with my three dogs, catch a movie, or share a glass of wine with friends.

ALEKS

Hygienist

I am a gentle, caring dental hygienist who practices comfortable, health-centered dental hygiene with a strong emphasis on getting to know each and every one of my patients. I love my work and always try my best to make your visit here a pleasant one. In 2012, I graduated from DVC Dental Hygiene Program, and I have been with Dr. James R. Mattingly, DDS DABDSM’s practice ever since. My main goal is to improve my patients’ overall health by educating them on how dental issues can affect their general health. When not at the office, you can find me camping in the mountains or traveling in Europe.
